Golu Festival
Children of Kangraoo Kids and Billabong High Had an opportunity To Visit 'Golu Festival' during Navaratri. It is a festival, which is celebrated, in southern India during the 10 days of Navaratri and Dusshera. Dolls, Gods, Goddesses made of terracotta were displayed. It was painted with vibrant colors, which added to the festive look. Here, these were kept in ascending order, which showed the evolution of nature, at the top being the God and Goddess. It started with food and grains, vegetables then human and then Gods like 'Narsingha' which are half human half animal body. Then it went up to Gods like Ganesh, Durga and at the top most Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh. It was wonderful to see children totally engrossed and ask questions related to it. It was very informative and beautifully done.
